Design-For-A-Client Prototyping Project | 2021
This project aims to understand the explorative design process within an existing company's portfolio and propose a new design that aligns with its visual identity by analyzing visual expressions and finding balance with material restrictions. Ideation started with research fundamentals, analog medium exploration, testing material properties and limitations, manufacturing with CAD precision, and manufacturing with moulds. The design parameters were to design a lamp with an IKEA light bulb socket, with two variations using Sintra, a thermoforming expanded PVC material.
